The Black Skirts - Dientes (검정치마)

Black Skirts was one of the rising indie musician who had a big fan base. This group was interesting to me, because they had an foreigner member who plays piano I believe and it was just interesting to me as I said. This one is particular interesting because of the music video. To be honest, I don't know the specific meaning and the actual lyric but it just goes so well with the video. Also it is very touching, sad, and realistic so......... sad.

Korean Music of the Day #52

#52 - John Park - Falling (존 박)

I try not to put up a lot of new musics in this segment, but this was interesting to me so here it is. John Park was initially a contestant on American Idol. Koreans being Koreans, they praised him for just being Korean in a foreign show and doing good. After that he participated in the show called SuperStar K which made him more famous with Huh Gak. 

After the show, he has been working with Kim Dong Ryul and came out with this album. He had the 2nd place in the show, but his album wasn't as fast as others which is why others had anticipated for this album more. At first, I didn't appreciate how he wasn't using his normal talking voice colour to sing it, but suddenly when this song was playing its chorus part in the morning as an alarm, it sounded so beautiful.

Korean Music of the Day #51

#51 - Big Bang - Blue (빅뱅)

Big Bang has been the issue of Korea for quite some time now. Dae Sung with unfortunate car accident, G Dragon with marijuana were the two huge hits Big Bang took last year and they recently came on the TV show to talk about this. Although there are people who are still very negative towards them, fans have been always there for them I think. Even before the song was released, they were able to make top headlines with their changed styles and releasing one person at a time.

I just feel like the chorus of this song is different from the ones I used to hear from them. At first I didn't like it at all, but now I like the smooth and quiteness of the song

Korean Music of the Day #50

Sung Si Kyung - It would be good (성시경 - 좋을텐데)

This is one of the songs that I love from Sung Si Kyung. He has successfully come onto the musical industry of Korea through an internet audition and this song is from the 2nd album. He was able to successfully blend in and make his presence throughout his career. His songs are known to be very smooth and relaxing and romantic. There are couple of songs that go away from that perspective of Sung Si Kyung, but he is awesome as always.

His nickname was Sung Va Tar at one moment (Sung Si Kyung + Avatar) where he dressed up as an avatar and sang beautiful songs. He has sense of humour, very respectful of elders and has a great personality with awesome voice.

Korean Music of the Day #49

#49 - Sister's Barbershop - Did you forget me (언니네 이발관 - 나를 잊었나요)

This is a band that has been performing for a very long time since the 90s. They had different concerts and one of the bands who have been performing successfully in number of places. I found this band when I was watching a music show called YDH's Loveletter (I think;; it's finished now so not sure if it's right). Anyway this song is what got me into liking this group so............. here it is.

Country KoKo - Oh Happy (컨츄리꼬꼬 - 오 해피)

Country KoKo was one of those groups that you will listen to when you wanted awesome happy songs. They are known for happy music and awesome comical personality on TV shows. There was a period of time when both of them were godly on TV shows and practically made everyone made laugh every day in different shows. Even though the rapper in the video, Shin Jung Hwan, had unfortunate happenings, I still like him.

They are both very talented, but due to the old age and the current theme they have it looks like we won't be able to hear from them in this duo anymore. SAD

Clazziquai Project - Prayers

This song was a request from a friend, but I'll put it up here until I can get my hands on the album. Clazziquai is the famous group who keeps appearing in my show one way or another and there is a good reason, they are good. Clazziquai project is led my DJ clazzi who makes all these electronic sound and stuff. I found this song in the remixed version which famous dance group performed on, but now that I know the original, remix don't got anything on this.

Wheesung - With me (휘성 - with me)

I have recently posted a song where he collaborated with G.Na. but realized that I actually never posted his own song. This is considered to be one of the hit songs that he produced. It is not the most popular song from him, but the melody is very familiar to me and many others. I just didn't know remember the actual title of the song until couple of years ago. 

This was when he was near the beginning of his career and it was so good and portraying his awesome style and skills.

Heritage - I decide (헤리티지)

This song is very familiar to many Koreans if they have watched the show "SuperStar K" before. It was a song sung by one of the contestants who got a lot of attention with his police suit and impressive audition. Heritage is a group that worships god, I'm pretty sure this is not called gospel group, but maybe it is. Anyway the original singer who is in this video is a tannor(?) or whatever you call the guy who sings classical music stuff in english.

It is actually quite sad that it is very short, but o well, this is what we get and we shall enjoy this as it is.

G.O.D - Love and Remeber (지오디 - 사랑해 그리고 기억해)

G.O.D. is one of the very first group that I remember and actually listen to in my childhood. I was madly addicted to their songs and used to rewind that tape over and over again. This was a group created by JYP and possibly what got the JYP company started. The name may be misleading to English speaking people who don't know much about Korean music group naming craziness, but they are amazing so....... I approve of their name.

This is the song that got G.O.D. famous and also the song I loved from them when I was young, the first song I loved, I love whooooooooole lotta more songs from them. It is quite unfortunate that they are old and have changed and also members activities are quite different. It was mentioned very briefly they might come back, but I doubt that will happen especially when one of the member, Joon, is quite old and is in US at the moment.

Lyn - Love me for me (린)

Lyn is one of the continuing solo female artist who has her name well known to the public in Korea. Although her albums haven't been very successful in the last couple of years (assuming she released some), but has been showing up on TV where she arranged or made a melody of different songs and they have been a talk of the music for quite some time. One of my favorite musician/composer/producer Yoo Hee Yeul said she has the best voice for acoustic music and I'm not gonna lie, it is pretty awesome.

Although many people remember the heartbreaking ballad from Lyn, but I remember the energetic happy rearranged music performances she did on TV and she is just way tooo gooooooood.

G.Na, Wheesung - Nice to meet you

This is a collaboration between G.Na and Wheesung. I recently was brought back to find the super duper crazy awesome Wheesung songs and stumbled upon this collaboration between the two. G. Na is cool and all but......... wheesung is awesome and godly.... just saying.

It is a happy song, but there are awesome sad songs by Wheesung like "with me".

Freestyle - Dating (프리스타일 - 연애)

It has been quite some time since I posted a music of the day, but I have a  legitimate reason besides just being lazy. Anyways, as always I found this song by going through random indie artists. It's one of those song that makes you feel happy just by listening to the tone and the melody.  I love the part when the female vocal sings "I love you WOOO~" of course it's in Korean. 

Anyways, now that my reading week will start, hopefully my laziness shall prevail

Beast - Fiction

If you have listened to my show before, you will know that I'm not a huge fan of these idols that we have at the moment. Beast is a group that is going up in the popularity scale and a group that I know about, but I have never been a huge fan of their songs at all. But this song is just so addicting to me. I tried to play this on the show, but the album i got was a defect with everything but this song.

I will casually post idol music when I really love them and this is one of them with the famous penguin dance or whatever you call it.

G Dragon - Heartbreaker, Lollipop, Super Junior - Sorry Sorry (Trot Remix)

I was just going some of the songs I used to have in my playlist and this is a very interesting piece of music. These hit songs are remixed by a singer called TtMaKing, which stands for Trot master king i think. Trot is a genre in Korea which has been here for a long time and generally appeals to more elder people.

He is a very famous UCC Star which is equivalent to youtube star in korea. I personally like the sorry sorry version a lot better and wish he would release some awesome quality version but it is a remix to entertain people so ...... this will have to do.

Verandah Project - bike riding (베란다 프로젝트)

This is a project group formed between Kim Dong Ryul and Lee Sang Soon. Many people know Kim Dong Ryul because he has a lot of hit songs which are getting recognized as classics. These days Lee Sang Soon is more well known as a boyfriend of famous artist named Lee Hyo Ri. She is pretty and sexy and people wonder how the hell they manage to meet but they look good together.

I feel like this video doesn't have the best audio quality that I've heard and fell in love with. I do not know how much work they have done together as this group, but I know these two are awesome combination and I am waiting to hear from both of them.

Rossy PP - Tulip (로지피피 - 튤립)

Rossy PP is an indie group, and from the small research I have done, it looks like Rossy PP is a female artist who has been working for couple of years now. The first official album has been released on 2011 august, so which means more beautiful music is on the way.

I'm just really sad at the moment so.......... hopefully this will cheer me up... I give up on explaining stuff today....

also as a idea given by mr.chan and my inner dark evil side is telling me to do this...

Linus' Blanket - Stop liking, start loving (라이너스의 담요)

Linus' Blanket is a artist who have been played multiple times on my shows. They are known for a song which was used for a commercial and the vocal's unbelievably baby like pure voice. Many Koreans didn't know the songs are from Korea because they used to write all their songs in English.

I always love their songs like 'when the summer has gone by, picnic' etc... and I found couple more songs recently like this one. There is another song called Confession and I actually find these two songs really similar except little bit of difference in the general mood.

Naul - One more time (나얼 - 한번만 더)

Naul, a person who made minimal TV appearance yet has a reputation of soul king vocalist in Korea. He is known for many songs which he may have worked on it solo like this song, or many other hit songs from Brown Eyes and Brown Eyed Soul.

This song isn't the famous one from the album, rather 귀로 is the famous song which may many people in Korea may know Naul as. It is possibly because the other song is easier to sing along than this one (it isn't easy to sing like him at all lol). He's voice is one of kind or maybe i should say his talent in general. I really hope he shows up on I am a Singer, even though it doesn't really go well with many of the idea that singers have.

Sorri - walk in the park (소히 - 산책)

I literally found this song few seconds ago. I found out that the theme of the music that I really liked was Bossanova. A lot of artists have arranged many songs in this style but I never knew the name until recently. I was searching that word in korean and this artist came up and I decided to check it out.

I wouldn't say she has the best or amazing vocal that will capture everyone, but I really like the way she plays the guitar and casually sings it. The name is spelled Sorri but in korean it looks like it is pronounced like "Sohee". Supposedly it is derived from a Brazilian.

Ha Dong Kyun - Please Love Her (하동균 - 그녀를 사랑해줘요

Ha Dong Kyun was a vocal of a famous group who has disbanded now. I think the group was 1Tyme but not sure. He is known for his song "Butterfly". But I love this song  a lot more. The deep voice is always something that I envy and he is definetely one of those that perfected his style.

When I find a better version for this one, I am definetly playing this on the show
